Vectorform is known as a dynamic and creative company specializing in the creation of emerging digital experiences for the world's leading brands. As a team of designers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and intellectuals, Vectorform's mission is to invent products, services, and processes that result in meaningful and exceptional human experiences.

Vectorform is seeking a highly skilled Director of Client Delivery Operations. The Director of Client Delivery Operations is accountable for leading the company's Project Management Office (PMO) which, in turn, is responsible for delivering complex software, hardware and design solutions with executive-level program and project management expertise and presence. The PMO guides client and internal delivery teams toward mutual success with their ability to plan, organize, and control client projects of any scale. The Director of Client Delivery Operations sets the tone of the PMO and provides leadership, oversight, coaching, mentoring and INSPIRATION.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the PMO and cross collaborate with other department heads on company-wide strategic business matters.
  • Build, enhance, monitor and enforce PMO policies, procedures, practices and standards within the overall framework of the organization.
  • Ensure consistency in project planning and execution by creating or reviewing and then following project plans that effectively utilize templates, checklists and clear communication schemes. Identify project risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.  Actively plan and execute mitigation and escalation strategies for timely issue resolution.  Course correct on a real time basis to ensure overall project goals and client satisfaction are achieved.
  • Oversee and monitor the status of all active projects and periodically report PMO metrics. Utilize exception-based reporting techniques to flag, escalate and timely resolve project issues, including timeline, quality of work, work scope and stakeholder collaboration matters.
  • Manage a reasonable client project workload that balances the need for "overflow" coverage with the need for PMO leadership and oversight.
  • Provide appropriate client facing support to less experienced project managers and/or in situations requiring executive presence.
  • Be a "power user" of the company's project management tools (currently Jira, Confluence and QuickBooks) and be the "business owner" of the internal project and time accounting system.
  • Lead the weekly company-wide resource allocation meeting ensuring that delivery personnel are assigned work that is consistent with the needs of active projects. Coordinate with other department heads to collectively achieve company-wide utilization objectives, manage overtime levels and otherwise equitably manage workloads.
  • Understand, manage and periodically report the financial performance of all active projects, including client invoicing, budget to actual results, estimates to complete, change orders, hourly realization and overall project profitability.
  • Participate in the sales and business development cycle as necessary or required by meeting with potential clients to explain the company's PMO process, providing project cost estimates, attending meetings or events that showcase our delivery capabilities and/or facilitating sales activities before programs end and existing relationships become disconnected.
  • Act as the hiring manager for all members of the PMO, set appropriate performance measures and goals for project managers, perform annual staff evaluations and provide on-going counseling, mentoring and performance feedback to all subordinates.
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of study.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with Agile, ITIL or other certifications a plus.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role directly managing other PMO professionals.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience managing complex program and/or projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, including verbal, written and technical translation skills.
  • Experienced, confident and comfortable holding project managers and others accountable.
  • Proven track record of achieving company objectives while exceeding client expectations for on-time, in-scope projects.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated experience defining policies, procedures, practices and standards and driving change through leadership by example and inspiration.
